APPLICATIONS

Mucochloric acid consumption is linked mostly to the production of crop protection products including pyridazinone herbicides such as chloridazon and norfluorazon. Mucochloric acid, dichlorinated formylacrylic acid, is produced by reaction of furfural with chlorine. Mucochloric acid is used as an intermediate to make dyes, pigments, pesticides, pharmaceuticals and photo chemicals.
