APPLICATIONS

4-Tert-butylbenzoic acid is addded as a stabilizer or modifier for alkyd resin and as a corrosion inhibitor in cooling fluids. Because of the sterically hindered group, tert-butyl aromatic compounds have an antioxidizing action and also act as UV stabilizers. It is used as an  intermediate of organic target substances and also used as a fixative of fragrance.
