APPLICATIONS

Phenazopyridine has a local analgesic effect in the urinary tract used in cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, and prostatitis. The hydrochloride salt of phenazopyridine is a dark red to violet crystalline powder; decomposes at melting point 235 C; slightly soluble in water, in alcohol and in chloroform.
