APPLICATIONS

Levobunolol is an ophthalmic beta-adrenergic blocking agent used to treat ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma as an antihypertensive and antianginal in eyes. It is chemically described as (-)-5-[3,(t-Butylamino)-2-hydroxypropoxy]- 3,4-dihydro-1(2H)- naphthalenone; white to pint powder. Hydrochloride salt of levobunolol is for the formulation of ophthalmic solution (eye drops). Other ophthalmic beta-adrenergic blocking agents include betaxolol, carteolol, levobetaxolol, metipranolol and timolol.
