A 3rd generation cephalosporin; beta-Lactamase resistant with tetrazolyl moiety. Active against a broad-spectrum of aerobic and anaerobic gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. beta-Lactamase is produced by many gram-negative bacteria. The stability to beta-lactamases increases the activity against gram-negative organisms.
